SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Asian Outlook has published exemplary work from the students of Binghamton University and elsewhere since 1988. We accept submissions on a quarterly basis—twice a semester according to the Binghamton University school schedule. For the typical academic year, the submission periods are August to September, October to November, January to February, and March to April. The most recent information for submissions can be found on our Instagram (@asianoutlook). Issues are published approximately a month after submissions close.
We are looking for a wide range of submissions: fiction, nonfiction and artwork. Examples of our previous work can be found here. Despite our name, we do not accept work exclusively from Asian creatives; we are Asian-focused but not Asian-exclusive. We occasionally provide themes for our issues, but they are not strict; feel free to send us whatever you have!
We are unable to pay our contributors at this time. Contributors should be 18 or older.

We accept previously published work, but please inform us of the name of the journals or publications that previously housed your work, and provide links. Also ensure that the rights to your work have been reverted to you.
We ask for first serial rights for previously unpublished work. After publication, rights will revert to the contributor. You are free to submit your work to other publications once the rights revert to you, but we ask that you acknowledge Asian Outlook as the first home for your work.
We accept simultaneous submissions, but please note any simultaneous submissions and withdraw immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.
